Frequently asked questions

Why do footballers cut their socks?
To wear a grip sock underneath: the foot gets the grip of the sock and the leg stays covered by the team sock.
How do you wear sock sleeves with grip socks?
Grip sock on the foot, shin pad on the shin, then the sock sleeve on top, pulled up until it covers the shin pad.
What colours do the sock sleeves come in?
Black, white, navy, blue, red, yellow and green. You can check stock for each colour on the product page.
Is it a problem in a match if my grip socks and sock sleeves are different colours?
IFAB Law 4 asks that any tape or material applied or worn on the outside of the sock is the same colour as the part of the sock it covers. That is why it makes sense to match your grip socks and sock sleeves. If you're unsure, ask the referee or your club.
Can I return them?
Returns within 30 days of delivery, except personalised items and sale items. The customer pays the return postage. See the return policy.

Football sock sleeves, also known as cut football socks: footless socks you wear over your grip socks. Your team colour stays on top, the sleeve covers your shin pad and the grip does its job under your foot, inside the boot.

How to wear them. Put on your grip socks first, regular or short. Place the mini shin pad on the front of your shin, then pull the sleeve up over sock and shin pad: it holds it in place. For extra hold, add shin pad adhesive strips.

Colours. Black, white, blue, navy, red, yellow and green. Sleeve and sock are two separate pieces, so you can match the sleeve to your team and pick the grip sock colour on its own. One size, EU 35-50. The sleeve itself is plain, with no grip: the grip is only on the sock.

Care. Machine wash at 30 °C on a delicate cycle, inside out; no fabric softener or bleach, no tumble dryer: hang to dry.

Football sock sleeves (footless socks) for grip socks

TrincheBalk football sock sleeves, also called footless socks, have a cut designed for the pitch: you pull them up over your shin pads and they give your leg your team colour and a match-day look. You can pair them with TrincheBalk grip socks in the same colour, for grip inside the boot and colours that match.

They come in black, white, navy, blue, red, yellow and green. Here's the order: first the grip socks, then the mini shin pads on your shin, and finally the sock sleeve, pulled up until it covers the shin pad.

IFAB Law 4 asks that shin guards are covered by the socks and that any tape or material worn on the outside is the same colour as the part of the sock it covers. That's why it makes sense to choose grip socks and sock sleeves in the same colour. If you're unsure about your league, ask the referee or your club before kick-off. A dreamer's look, steady feet.
